ADC measuring voltages

hello every one,
i am new to mplab IDE and i am working with pic18444 and i want to measure analog voltages repeatedly so how can i find its average voltage, that information will send over UART so please help me.

    You can also look at this article which has a lot of information which will be valuable to you. It also has an example for the PIC18 attached, if you are working on a PIC16F1 or PIC18 the code will be pretty much identical to that.
