cant find iostream

I recently reinstalled the LAB-X IDE (v5.15) and tried to run a short tutorial program. It tried to load the <iostream> header but the program could not find the file. Is this because I did not provide the right header file location info?
After a little digging around I am a bit confused, any thoughts would be most welcome, thank you for your attention.

MpLabX is an IDE only. If you did not install a compiler, you cannot compile programs.
You forgot to mention, whether you installed any compiler, if yes, which compiler, and which tutorial you try to run.
If you are using a real silicon PIC, it doesn't hurt to mention this, too.
Do you intend to program in C++ ?

At a guess, you are trying to use a tutorial intended for C++ running on a PC, not C running on an embedded processor.

Hm, my fantasy did not cover this.
Please let us know, whether you plan to program a Microchip PIC at all or whether you just try to learn C++

4Yes, I should have tried more things and been much better prepared before going to the Forum, many thanks for your assessment, problem solved. Now I have new ones, things are coming together.
