PIC18F4620 and HC-05 Bluetooth connection problems. MCU and Bluetooth do not communicate

Hello,

I am trying to use a PIC18F4620 microcontroller and an HC-05 bluetooth module to communicate with an Android phone. I am trying to send a message from the phone to the PIC18 to turn on a pin. I am using MPLAB 8.92 with a HI-TECH C compiler. For the phone I am using the Bluetooth Terminal HC-05 app.

I am programming the PIC18 using an FTDI UART module connected to TX and RX, like the module here:
https://www.amazon.com/Qu...634201311077&psc=1

After programming I am disconnecting the wires from the FTDI module and hooking up the HC-05. I have the TX from the HC-05 connected to the RX on the PIC18, and the RX from the HC-05 going through a voltage divider to the PIC18 to drop it to 3.3 Volts.

I am using a 10Mhz crystal and trying to operate the bluetooth at a baud rate of 9600.

Using the code attached (I attached both .c and .txt), I can connect to the HC-05 using my phone, but I do not get any messages from the PIC18 and trying to send a message to the PIC18 from my phone does not turn on the pin RB6 like I intend it to. I am not sure where my error is.

Thank you
