PIC32MZ SPI 16 bit mode with Harmony not working

Hi!

I'm using PIC32MZ2048EFM100, Harmony v2.06, MPLAB X v5.10 and XC32 v2.15. I used Harmony to generate drivers for SPI communication. Everything works fine in 8-bit transfer mode. But whenever I change the settings in Harmony to 16 bit mode, the clock is not triggered at all and SPI is not responding.

What could be the cause of that? Is there anything else that I should change, apart from what Harmony changes in system_config.h when switching modes?

Are there any example programs that use 16 bit mode? All SPI examples in Harmony are in 8 bit mode.
