picKit 4 Programmer_to_go release date?

We just bought the pickit 4 specifically for PTG.
Any update on when this will be released as it still doesn't seem to be supported in MPLAB X IDE 5.10?
Should we send it back and get picKit 3 instead?

The PK4 does not fully support the CH chips.  I've had to go back to PK3 to program the slave for testing code.

I bought the PK4 and CH chips at the same time.  I can program the master withe pk4 but that is not what I want to do.  Wasted money.

As of July 2019, PTG is still not available on MPLABX 5.20.

June of which year? please specify the year! 2025?

Been waiting a year and a half for this, which is marketed as "PTG available" on your sales page. At least don't put non-existant functionalities on your product sales specs....

It was not good idea to release a hardware and use this feature as one of the marketing features while the software to support it will take ages to be released.

Don't whether it's just local anomaly, but it's early August here. And PTG for PK4 is nowhere to be seen.

MPLAB X v5.25 is now available for download.  This release contains PICkit 4 PTG BETA.  Support is there for most PIC16/PIC18/PIC32 devices.  dsPIC and PIC24 will be added in the October release.

After a bit more investigation I determined the P2G functionality is crashing the PK4. Unplugging and replugging enables it again for normal programming mode.

PK4 will soon be 2 Years old.
A finished product should have been sold.

Although I'm not totally surprised, the above problem has randomly corrected itself.

So I've come to program 1,000 boards using the PK4 P2G.

I quickly discovered that the "button" which is under the logo + aluminium + plastic front, won't press properly unless I press exactly in the "right position" with a force which hurts the finger. After doing this about 10 times per board I gave up.

Removing the plastic front reveals a button with very little travel. I'm intending to swap that button out for something with a longer throw. It's possible Microchip have fixed this issue in later revisions but if not they should prepare for it to come up!
