EBI and Ethernet on 100-pins chips PIC32MZ.

EBI and Ethernet on 100-pins chips PIC32MZ.

Is it possible to use EBI and Ethernet at the same time on 100-pins chips (Have common pins for EBIA2,EBIA3  and AEREFCLK, AERXDV)?
I use PIC32MZ2048EFM100 and LAN8720A. 
Or should I use a 144 pin chip?

    disclaimer: I am responding on the basis of my experience and having gone thru similar dilemma.
    The down side of multiplexed peripherals is that you cannot use two of them if they share a pin. if they have alternative package that does not share those pins than yes, you have answered your own question there !
    I have never done it but I guess you can go to the extent of re defining pin multiplexing  within the program and use both functions of a pin.

    Hi,
    AEREFCLK, AERXDV are alternate pins for Ethernet signals, selected by configuration bit FETHIO,
    but on 100 pin device, EREFCLK and AEREFCLK seem to be the same pin.
     
    May also depend upon what use you want of EBI.
    Not all uses of EBI, will need to use all Address pins of EBI.
    E.g graphics interface may use EBI without address pins, but if you want EBI to address external memory you may need a different package.
