Forum Guidelines - Read before posting

Welcome to the Microchip web conferences. We hope you'll like the format. Before posting, please remember these guidelines:

• Remember: This conference is only one channel of community-supported technical support.Urgent support issues, such as critical bug reports, should go to our technical support center <http://support.microchip.com> -- or to your local Field Application Engineer.
• Don't post the same message in different areas. If the same message is found posted in multiple areas, the duplicate will be deleted. If you persist in doing this, you may e removed from this conference.
• Post in the appropriate forum for the tool that you are using. (e.g. Post ICD 2-specific messages in the ICD 2 forum.) Several Microchip Development Systems engineers monitor these forums, but the appropriate people will not read your message if it isn't in the correct forum. Posting in the appropriate forum will also help people find your message later. Remember that the ICD 2 forum includes not only the physical hardware, but also the ICD 2 software component within MPLAB IDE, and the tool's firmware. If a moderator moves your message to a different forum and you have the forum's email feature enabled, you should receive a notification of the move.
• Provide as much information as possible. You will get your question answered more quickly and more accurately if information in your message is specific and complete. What tool (simulator, ICE, etc.) are you using? What version of the tool? What target device (e.g. PIC18F452) are you using?
• Search for a previous answer to your question. Save yourself some time by searching the forum for previous message threads that may answer your question.
• Keep posts professional and to the point. Flaming, Rudeness, inappropriate language/subjects or non-Microchip related topics may result in you being removed from the conferences.
• Use a useful and unique subject line. Please be specific in the subject line so that we can easily identify your message. "MPLAB IDE" and "Urgent Problem" are not useful subjects.
• Use code tags when posting source code. Place your source code within code tags as shown here:
your code here
. The web forum will then show your code with proper formatting.
• Inappropriate subjects: cracking, illegal software/firmware practices, messages which simply link to other commercial sites, spam email advertisements, off-color remarks, and other messages deemed objectionable by this forum's moderators.
Notice: Microchip reserves the right to initiate legal action against individuals and entities that violate our website terms of use and/or applicable law.
