IS2062/IS2064/BM62/BM64 AVRCP 1.6 Browsing Channel Support

AVRCP 1.4+ has support for a control channel and a browsing channel.  I've successfully used both with other chipsets but in looking over the AudioAUARTCommandSet_v2 02.docx document I don't see a way to open the browsing channel (link).  I also don't see a command that would allow you to access that channel or link.  I think it would require another command very similar to the AVC_Vendor_Dependent_Cmd (0x0B).

Has anyone successfully used the AVRCP browsing commands or come up with a workaround?

Update: I opened a case on 9/17/18.  On 2/4/19 I received the following response: "we will not be adding browse capability in our next minor release of DSPK2.1. We do not have plans for this feature in the BM6x family."

Frustrating but at least I have an answer.  I must admit that I am frustrated that the BM62/64 datasheet indicates AVRCP 1.6 compliance and yet there doesn’t appear to be any features supported beyond AVRCP 1.3. Since the AVRCP specification doesn’t require all features to be implemented, claiming AVRCP 1.6 may not be wrong but I feel it is misleading. Accurate datasheets are vital and I think this deserves some attention.

Update #2: The documentation in DSPK v2.1.3 may lead you to believe the BM6x supports AVRCP Browsing through the AVRCP_Browsing_Cmd (0x41). The AudioUARTCommandSet_v2.04.pdf is used in a variety of products including the BM83.  Per Microchip Support as of 4/16/2020: "BM64 doesn't support command #41.There is no plan to add this feature in BM64."  Based on the current datasheet claiming support for AVRCP 1.6 and the documentation including the AVRCP_Browsing_Cmd it would now be even easier to assume the device supports browsing.  I do hope this gets addressed in future documentation updates.

    Thank you echorules,

I was looking for cover art support (again added in avrcp v1.6), and noticed that nothing is returned if you call GetElementAttributesCmd (AttributeID = 8).

I also noticed that quite a few of the commands return "Unknow Command" - Including 0x3F (for PBABP connection)... documented in the AudioUARTCommandSet !
I assume that the it is no hope for BM64 to be updated then.
