CCP2 Warning Frequency Lesser or equal to FOSC/4

Hello all,

MCC version: 3.65
MPLAB X version: 4.20
Operating System and version:  Windows 7 Pro
Compiler version: XC8 v1.38
Device name:  PIC18F25K80
Attach your MCC Configuration file:  None yet.

This is my first post on this forum, even If I consulted it for a long while , if I do something wrong please don't hesitate to tell me !

Here is my issue !

I'm using Conde Configurator for a quick test.

After configuring what I needed , I got the following message Warning :

Configure Timer 1 to operate on frequency equal to or lesser than FOSC/4 to use it as Capture source.

However my Timer1 clock is configured as 3.32Mhz and my FOSC is configured as 30Mhz.

What did I missed ?

For TIMER1 to be used as the "count: source for the capture function the TIMER1 clock source must be synchronous with the instruction clock of the PIC you are using.

You will need to Enable Synchronization to allow TIMER1 to be clocked from an external input and be used at the count source for the capture function.

    Hello Dan,

    Thank you for your answer.

To bring more information into the thread , what i want to do is :

Having the PIC clocked by a 30Mhz clock.
Having 2 other clock sources counted on TMR1 and TMR2.
Getting those result trigged by a CCP event.

The things is both TMR1 and TMR3 Clock sources are fully independant from the 30Mhz and have frequency and phase which should not be synchronized with the main clock.

The external CCP2 and 3 trigger is random and delaying it to be synchronized with the main clock my impact the system performance.

However thanks again for your feedback. I tried your solution to see if it was removing the issue but even when synchronization is checked , the message still remain.

    Best regards,

    Hi,
The information that you are seeing the Notification tap,
"Configure Timer 1 to operate on frequency equal to or lesser than FOSC/4 to use it as Capture source."
suppose to be "Hint", not a Warning. We will take this issue and correct it in MCC.
