PIC32MX695F512L - USB multiple sector read

Hi everyone. I have recently begun my first project with PIC microcontrollers. I try to implement PIC32 as a host to read data fom thumb drives. I am using MLA from 2012 (taken over old project :/ )  with the FSfile system. The maximum speed of read I've managed to have is 165kB/s (bulk transfer with multiple transaction per frame) . My question is - how can I increase the speed? I've heard about multiple sector reading - should I use newer version of MLA to implement this?

    Hi,
    I think a different version of MLA will not help much.
    MLA for PIC32 was mostly abandoned after v2013-06-15,
    and most of it was discarded in versions after that.
    MDD File System was then v1.4.4
     
    There are several threads in these fora about using FatFs by Elm-Chan to replace the filesystem code in MLA,
    and using DMA for transfer from SD-card.

    I succesfully implemented FatFs, but suprisingly the speed of USB Flash read remained the same (165 KBytes/s) :/
