Welcome to the Microchip web conferences. We hope you'll use this area productively. Before posting, please read these guidelines:
- Remember: This conference is only one channel of community-supported technical support. Urgent support issues, such as critical bug reports, should go to our technical support center [http://www.microchip.com/support] -- or to your local Field Application Engineer.
- Keep posts professional and to the point. Flaming, rudeness, inappropriate language/subjects or non-Microchip related topics may result in you being removed from the forums. This includes degrading, berating or demeaning comments. We encourage people from all over the world to use our forums. Rude comments on someone else’s English abilities or mis-use is degrading and inappropriate in these forums and may result in the poster being banned.
- Don't post the same message in different areas. If the same message is found posted in multiple areas, the duplicate will be deleted. If you persist in doing this, you may be removed from this conference. .
- Post in the appropriate forum for the tool that you are using. (e.g. Post messages about MPLAB ICD 2 in the MPLAB ICD 2 forum.) Several Microchip Development Systems engineers monitor the Development Tools forums, but the appropriate people will not read your message if it isn't in the correct forum. Posting in the appropriate forum will also help people find your message later. Remember that the MPLAB ICD 2 forum includes not only the physical hardware, but also the MPLAB ICD 2 software component within MPLAB IDE, and the tool's firmware. If a moderator moves your message to a different forum and you have the forum's email feature enabled, you should receive a notification of the move. .
- Provide as much information as possible. You will get your question answered more quickly and more accurately if information in your message is specific and complete. What tool (simulator, Ihardware, etc.) are you using? Whatversion of the tool? What target device (e.g. PIC18F452) are you using?
- Search for a previous answer to your question. Save yourself some time by searching the forum for previous message threads that may answer your question. [search.microchip.com].
- Provide a useful and unique subject line. Please be specific in the subject line so that all can easily identify your message. "MPLAB IDE," "Need Help" and "Urgent Problem" are not useful subjects. .
- Inappropriate subjects: cracking, illegal software/firmware practices, messages which simply link to other commercial sites, spam email advertisements, off-color remarks, and other messages deemed objectionable by this forum's moderators.
Please read the forum posting guidelines. Do not double post, please help keep these forums professional and comments respectful.
Please notify the moderators of problems/spam/trolls.
