It's made that way so you have to make additional posts instead of edits, and then the forum can block you from making any more posts until the next day. ;)

Crap. I forgot about that. Also, it won't let me "vote" when the 5 stars are shown but will when the up/down thumbs are shown. I bet whoever selected and setup this forum software quit Microchip long ago and is laughing their butt off.

The only problem I've ever had with the stars system was a recent thread in one of the "training" forums.
My guess is you need some special user permission to be able to vote in that particular forum.
I agree, the way the individual forums are set up on this board is totally haphazard. It appears to have been done by several people over several years, few of which actually fully understood what they were doing.
 

This forum is mis-configured so it only works correctly if you access it via https protocol.
The Microchip website links to it using http protocol. Will they ever catch on?

If the Microchip marketing dept. bonuses depended on this forum software working correcting, it would be working correctly. :)
