Explorer 16/32 Coonection Failed message on download

When trying to program PIC24FJ1024GB610 which is mounted on Explorer 1632, it gives message that connection failed. Have supplied 5V DC. What could be the solution for this? Used PKOB USB for programming.

Supplied 5V to which connector?  5V is not sufficient on the barrel jack.

Are you sure you have the PIM oriented correctly?

Thanks for the reply. Just used only USB connection PKOB and then was able to program it.

Had same issue w/ PIC24FJ128GA310 with MPLAB-X v4.20. The IDE programs the required firmware images to the PKOB and dashboard paints an ID number, but then barks nebulous 'connection failed' message when trying to flash user application. Needed to connect both USB ports (J18 and J40) to host... not just J18.
