HDMI and Ethernet application, what micro-controller/microprocessor to use?

Hi All,
 
I am working on an application where I have to receive text/string data from Ethernet and then display the received text/string output through HDMI.
What kind of micro-controller/microprocessor would you guys recommend for this application? 
And please do NOT say Raspberry pi!!!

You need more than just a processor for this for the Ethernet alone. Not sure about HDMI. Are you goin to build your board yourself or are you looking for a complete dev board solution.

A PIC32MX or PIc32MZ will handle the Ethernet with the addition of a PHY and Magnetics.
I also do not know about the HDMI

I am familiar with PIC32MX series for Ethernet, but I am looking for something that can also do HDMI transmission. And yes, I will be building my own board.

the 32MZ DA chips will output XVGA, and you can convert to HDMI from there without too much trouble.

For the HDMI out, you can use any PIC suitable for directly driving an RGB LCD along with something like the TI TFP410MPAPREP to convert to DVI. HDMI is a superset of DVI & is directly compatible (passive converters are available).

How about with PIC32MZ DA at RGB signals I just connect a TDA19988 by NXP? Would I be able to get HDMI just with a HDMI transmitter like TDA19988?

Oooohhhh, that's interesting.  The nice thing about going to DVI and using a converter is that, if I remember correctly, you won't be responsible for HDMI licensing fees that way, but you would be if you implemented HDMI directly.  Is that about right?
 
EDIT:  I quickly skimmed the datasheet for that NXP part and the very end of it notes that you will have to pay HDMI licensing fees if you use that part of the product.

OOh WOW! I did not know HDMI has a licensing fee. Its ridiculous amount of fee + royalties. Is there anyway to get around it and also get audio? 
I can do DVI but it only has video and no audio.

Does DisplayPort has any licensing or royalty fee?
Maybe I can implement DisplayPort using something like STDP4028 and then use either a passive converter or something like SN75DP129 to get HDMI signal. What do you guys think?
