Mutator is against writing from 2 threads to 1 memory.

Ah, a mutex.  Terminology is important.

And that "Then it would be nice to set a ratio: by example every 100 instructions processed from core 1, will allow core 2 to process 1 instruction." business?  What's the point of that?

Yeah, "//Code and stuff".

AFAIK, CH is actually 2 MCUs in one. One is big. Other is smaller. Each has its own CPU and periphery. You assign each pin to either one of them. You use mailslots for communications. Say, one is doing non-stop DSP filtering. The other does everything else.

I am dying to see a block diagram, the include file can tell me only so much. Can somebody give an ETA of when a datasheet/advance information will be available to the general public? we are well within the quoted 4Q '17..

Re ETA: Seems the CH is a bit delayed6 So: when/where is the next major trade show?
For Europe this would be beginning of March (embedded world).

The ...GS808 family arrived without fanfare last January. I’m just going to keep checking the 16 bit devices periodically but I’ll not be holding my breath. The 30f6010 took years to finally come out.....

Host a user support forum that works ;)

This forum is mis-configured so it only works correctly if you access it via https protocol.
The Microchip website links to it using http protocol. Will they ever catch on?

But only on one of the 2 cores. And it will be random even within the same thread which core is involved Smile: Smile

The ...GS808 family arrived without fanfare last January.

Beginning of January (Jan 7th,2018) the CES in Las Vegas starts. An appropriate event to announce a new device.

The CES goes widely unnoticed in Europe thus "without fanfare" is correct from the European viewpoint.

Hmm, I thought "C" of CES meant consumer. Or is in this age of IOT dspice suddenly fashionable?

Although the C stands for Consumer, this is the event where quite a number of new semiconductors are presented as well. Mainly the cores for future consumer products.

Everyone goes there except Apple, reminds me of BS Galactica except Apple are the Cylons.

Samsung are my favourite for the chips they make.

Is there a datasheet?

Really? Can’t imagine it’ll be in the $5 region but that doesn’t matter to me... what parts are you thinking of?

@ Isaac_Sewell
The price depends on the quantity.
But currently even the EP512* does not exceed the 10 USD limit in single quantity. And if you need 100+ k/year, you might get them down to below 5 USD.

The dual core part we're all ranting about is designated dsPIC33CH128MP508.
Regarding the 128 kBytes of Flash, it should be lower than 5 USD at reasonable quantities.

It is practically 2 PICs in one. It only makes sense if it's price is less than the sum of prices of composing PICs.
