It doesn't blink at all.
Maybe "somebody" should clear her/his/its cache (or something like that).

No, it comes back to missing messages because people do things like quote my alias, instead of doing what my tagline at the bottom of the message says. Once the message has disappeared it is still counted as a message, but the web server can't find the message to display it and so goes into weird mode.

Do not use my alias in your message body when replying, your message will disappear ...
