Cannot deselect a pin in the Code Configurator

Hello,
I am using the MPLAB X IDE with a 16F15323 and have setup the CWG in push-pull mode, input source is PWM3-OUT, PWM3 uses TMR2 as input. This works fine.

The issue is that the Code Configurator adds the CWG1IN function and allocates a pin (RA2|CWG1IN). I need this pin for another function.

If I deselect the pin the MCC pin manager message is:
"Unable to deselect "CWG1IN" on pin RA2 in the pin manager....please configure an alternative "CWG1PPS" in the easy setup or Pin Module"

I don't understand why the CWG1IN input must be routed to a pin as it is not used.
How can I remove the CWG1IN function taking up a pin (PPS) ?
Thanks

    Hi,
i am using MPLAB X IDE v4.05 with the PIC16F15345 and i have the same Problem. I cant deactivate the CWG1IN-Input. The problem doesnt exist at the PIC16F1475 with the CWG-module.
With the CWG1PPS register you can only choose another pin but not deactivate.

    Have anyone an idea?

    Thanks

    Hi
I am using the PIC 16F15344 and have the same problem.
I have reassigned the CWG1IN to the RA0/PGD pin as I am not using this pin except for programming.

I have not checked if this will work yet, as I am still waiting for my actual Pic to be delivered.  I am trying to port code that was written for the 16F1829 to the 16F15344 as this is a newer and cheaper ic.
Is this a mistake in MCC?

    Thanks

Why is this a problem at all?
You can have multiple inputs all connected to the same pin with PPS.
