Curiosity Board Issue: Could not connect to tool hardware: PKOBSKDEPlatformTool

Hi All,

Purchased the Curiosity dev board.

I installed MPLAB-X-IDE on my mac, and tried debugging the board with sample code from web site.

I get the following:

Could not connect to tool hardware: PKOBSKDEPlatformTool, com.microchip.mplab.mdbcore.pkobskde.PKOBSKDEDbgToolManager
The debugger could not be started.  Terminating debug session.

What is real interesting, thinking it might be a Mac issue, I then went and installed the same set of tools on the a Windows 8 notebook I have, and I get the same issue.

I definitely see the Curiosity board as an option on the select platform debug menu, and option goes away when USB unplugged.

Any thoughts?.   Never had this much trouble getting started.

    Hello,
I have the same problem with my 'PIC32MM USB Curiosity Development Board'

The programmer could not be started: Could not connect to tool hardware: PKOBSKDEPlatformTool, com.microchip.mplab.mdbcore.pkobskde.PKOBSKDEDbgToolManager

    Is any solution for that?

    Hej.
Assuming "Curiosity" means 8 bit with 20pin socket (DM164137) in post #1.
    Using MPLAB-X 5.20 on Mac OS 10.14.4:
No problem loading/debugging a small program with a PIC16F1509 on the Curiosity board.
