PIC16LF1825 sleep current varies way too much

For some reason the sleep current of PIC16LF1825 varies way too much. Usually the sleep current is about 5uA. However, the latest batch includes several microcontrollers which sleep current is about 30-100uA (about 15% of the batch). I understand the sleep current vary up to 20%, but this kind of variation is not normal. The batch includes 500 microcontroller. The issue is solved if the microcontoller is changed and therefore the issue cannot be related to any other components.

The microcontroller has 100nF and 10uF ceramic capacitors connected to the VDD pin. Naturally the 100nF capacitor is closer to the VDD pin. I have seen high sleep currents if the 10uF capacitor has been closer to the VDD pin, but this is not the case this time.

The software is the same and therefore I am not sure if this can be related to the software either. Is it possible that there has been a bad batch? Have you seen such issues before?

That does not necessarily follow, if you are violating some other condition required by sleep mode.
You have not told us anything about how unused pins are configured etc.
One floating pin could easily explain the problem.

The most of the pins are connected to a sensor and a radio module. I check the specifications of the sensor and the radio module, but the sensor is turned off and the radio module is in deep sleep mode. I have also checked the sleep currents of the sensor and the radio module and they are correct.

However, there are some unconnected pins in the microcontroller. How the unconnected pins of the microcontroller should be set during the sleep mode if it is relevant?

Set them as outputs, and drive them low.
Never leave pins set as inputs if they are not held high or low.

No reason for a downvote, though...

    That wasn't me.
That post already had a downvote before I commented.
I've given plenty of upvotes on this forum, but very very rarely a downvote.
