Hi All,
I've been working on a PIC18F project, but today opened the wrong project, by mistake.
Because that project was for PIC16F, MPLAD IDE V8.92 started to download a new operating system to my ICD2.
Before I realised, I'd clicked  "X" to close MPLAB IDE, oooops !
So, I now have an ICD2 with partial firmware loaded.

Now MPLAB IDE will not connect to the ICD2, so I cannot download the operating system.
Any ideas guys ???

I think you can restore it if you connected to the computer via its serial port.

Thanks Neil, but not sure if I've got a computer with a serial port.

Managed to get it working now, thank god.
1. Used another ICD2, to get all up and running as normal, in MPLAB IDE.
2. Then hot-swapped to the "broken" ICD2 and found I could then use the "Download ICD2 operating system" button.

Maybe someone else might find this useful
