My app was previously working with the BM70. I never had this problem. With the RN4870, as soon as I am bonded and connected, the module disconnects. To verify it is not my app causing the problem (which was working in Transparent Mode with the BM70 without issue), I used the Smart Discovery app and get the same behavior. Here is the log from the serial terminal. What you see is rebooting from command mode, connecting with my app (3 attempts), sending 3 improper commands as a check, setting baud successfully, reboot, connecting with Smart Discovery (3 attempts), restarting my mobile device, and connecting with Smart Discover (3 attempts). The behavior is the same:

Has anyone else seen this? Not sure what to troubleshoot next. Thanks!

Firmware V1.18.3
I may need to update this first....suggestions still welcomed.

I used the ISupdate tool and loaded the hex files for v1.40. The .exe says it loaded correctly, but the module still reports v1.18.3...hmmmmm...still stuck here.
