PIC24F ‘GA’ Family of Microcontrollers

The PIC24FJ ‘GA’ family enables extremely cost-effective designs for Internet of Things (IoT) sensor nodes, portable medical devices and industrial control applications. In addition to eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology, these devices feature integrated crypto modules, segmented LCD drivers, 12-bit Analog-to Digital Converters (ADCs) AES Encryption, dual-partition Flash panels, 10-bit Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) and much more.

This family comes packed with Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs), such as configurable logic cell (CLC), Multi-Output Capture Compare Pulse Width Modulation module (MCCP) and Direct Memory Access (DMA), which allow developers to accomplish tasks in hardware while freeing up the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to accomplish other tasks or go to sleep.

Low Power Features eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology with sleep currents as low as 30 nA with flexible wake-up sources and run currents down to 150 μA / MHz, enabling power-efficient applications
Segment LCD Integrated display controller with up to 512 segments with the capability of operating in sleep mode
Flexible Peripherals Wide range of basic and specialized peripherals including Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs) such as Crypto Engine, Configurable Logic Cells (CLC), RTCC, PWMs and Peripheral Trigger Generator (PTG) designed to take the load off the CPU and reduce the overall energy requirement
Dual Partition Flash with Live Update Capable of holding two independent software applications, including bootloader permitting simultaneous programming of one partition while executing application code from the other while allowing run-time switching between active partitions
Direct Memory Access Dedicated DMA controller supporting both memory and peripheral data transfers thereby reducing CPU workload
Scalable Flash memory densities range from 16 KB to 1024 KB and RAM ranging from 4-32 KB with packages ranging from 28- to 121-pin options.
