How Do I Use RSS?

To use RSS, you will need RSS reader software that will allow you to collect and view RSS content. Many RSS readers are available for free. ‘Web-based’ RSS readers and ‘stand-alone’ RSS readers are just two types currently available. Each has different pros and cons to them. Follow these 2 steps to start viewing RSS feeds.

Step 1:

Decide which RSS reader works best for you. We have supplied a small list of RSS readers in alphabetical order that are available to use. To find more reader options, search for "rss reader" on any search engine.

Web-Based RSS Readers:

My.Yahoo

NewsGator

Stand-Alone RSS Readers:

FeedDemon

Google Desktop

RSS Reader

FeedReader

NewzCrawler

SharpReader

Step 2:

Add desired content to your RSS Reader. There are several different options to ‘get’ the RSS feed into your reader. We have listed 3 different ways to subscribe to our RSS feeds.

Option 1: Click on the graphic and then copy and paste the URL for the www.microchip.com RSS feed into the location provided by your RSS reader (usually there is an ‘add content by URL’ link to let you do this).

Option 2: Right-click on the graphic and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" and then copy and paste the URL for the www.microchip.com RSS feed into the location provided by your RSS reader.

Option 3: Some RSS readers allow you to drag the graphic into your RSS reader instead of clicking on it.

Then follow any additional instructions for your RSS reader.
