Microstick for dsPIC33F and PIC24H Development Board

It is a breakout board for 28-pin devices that offers on-board debugging and in-circuit programming (like a PICKIT). The XLP 16-bit Development Board provides a low-cost, highly configurable development system for Microchips new line of extreme low power 16-bit PIC24F microcontrollers which feature sleep currents down to 20nA. The board support development on PIC24F16KA102, PIC24FJ64GA102 and PIC24F64GB002 families of MCUs. The board can be powered by over five sources including batteries and energy harvesting modules and supports a variety of common components that can be selectively enabled. It was also expandable; the provided PICtail connector permists the addition of capabilities such as RF connectivity. The board suports a wide voltage range; from 1.8 V to 5.5V.

It also includes a 9V universal power supply for the Explorer 16 Development Board, a PIC24FJ128GA010 and a dsPIC33F256GP710 device (mounted on plug-in modules for quick replacement). Also included with the kit is Microchips MPLAB IDE. MPLAB C Compiler for 16-bit decies Lite Edition, tutorials and user manuals on CD-ROM. The dsPICDEM 1.1 Plus General Purpose development board provides the application designer with a low cost development tool to become familiar with the dsPIC30F/33F and PIC24H 16-bit architecture, high performance peripherals and powerful instruction set.
The board features an active demonstration program loaded on the installed dsPIC30F6014A device. Several program functions are selectable via a menu system displayed on the LCD. These include: temperature and voltage measurements, frequency domain characteristics of a sine wave signal generated on-board from a digital potentiometer, FIR and IIR digital filter selections and DTMF tone generation using the Codec interface peripheral (external speaker required).
