What is the Microchip Academic Program?
Microchip encourages universities and schools worldwide to include courses based on Microchip architecture in their curricula. Microchip also supports students in their selection of Microchip devices for their projects and designs. To assist these efforts, Microchip offers discounts to academia on Microchip development tools, information on textbooks that have been written about Microchip architecture, guidance on proper trademark and registration usage to authors, web seminars, application notes, and support for student projects. What if I have technical questions?
Educators are encouraged to submit their technical query in the form of a webticket in the online technical support program.

Students should work with their professors or advisors first. If the professor/advisor cannot solve the problem, he/she should contact Microchip's online support program.

What kind of assistance does Microchip give to educators?

Can Microchip fund my research or project?
Microchip does not fund research or projects.

How do I buy products at academic prices through a Microchip distributor?
When ordering a Microchip development tool from an authorized Microchip distributor, please make sure that you specify that you are a school or university and are entitled to a discount of 25% off of list price. Should you encounter a problem please have the distributor contact Microchip for verification.

How do I get extra data books?
All of Microchip’s data books are available as downloads from the Microchip web site. You can request literature; however, not all material is available in hard copy format. A determination about availability will be made upon receipt of your request.

How do I get permission to include Microchip text, graphics, diagrams, or data for inclusion in materials I am publishing?
Microchip Technology Inc. is pleased to support your efforts to promote our products in your textbooks, student papers, or school projects. Below are guidelines for proper usage of the Microchip logo and trademarks. Microchip makes every effort to protect its copyrights and trade marks.

A student's first course of support should be the instructor or professor for the class. The Microchip web site also offers a wealth of technical information and is a valuable resource tool for the student. If those resources do not provide guidance for the student to determine the answer, Microchip offers a technical assistance for customers and designers.
