Title: Integrating Microchip Libraries with a Real-Time Operating System
Name: AN1264
Date: 9/10/09
Author: Darren Wenn
Description: This application note examines the reasons for migrating to a RTOS-based platform. It then discusses the various changes that may be required to one?s software in order to use an RTOS. When discussing this topic, it is easier to do this in the context of a real world application, such as a home utility metering, as an example. The demonstration shows how a complex application can be built using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware and software components. By using an RTOS, the workload involved in integrating multiple libraries has been significantly reduced.
