Description:

Many embedded control applications, where sensor offsets, slopes and configuration information are measured and stored, require a calibration step. Traditionally, potentiometers or Serial EEPROM devices are used to set up and store this calibration information. This application note will show how to construct a programming jig that will receive calibration parameters from the application mid-range PICmicro? microcontrollers
(MCU) and program this information into the application baseline PICmicro using the In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP?) protocol. This method
uses the PIC16CXXX In-Circuit Serial Programming algorithm of the 14-bit core microcontrollers.
