| Emulating RS-232 over USB using the PIC18F4550 | The Communication Device Class RS-232 Emulation Reference Project provides the most direct way to migrate a serial port (legacy) application to USB. In fact this firmware provides direct emulation of a serial port on PC running Windows 2K and Windows XP. As the PIC18F4550 is attached to the PC, a virtual COM port is created. All PC software using a COM port will work without modifications with the virtual COM port. This presentation gives an overview of the reference project, a quick demonstration, and links to additional information. | 12/10/04 | 30 min |
| Introduction to PIC18 J-series Microcontrollers | Often, designers are familiar with Microchip's smaller microcontrollers and then their applications grow in complexity, requiring more performance, memory and I/O. We offer a smooth migration for customers with scalable microcontroller solutions including the new PIC18 J-series for cost sensitive applications requiring 10 MIPS performance. The purpose of this web seminar is to clarify how the PIC18 J-series of devices fits into the rest of Microchip?s product portfolio. Also the presentation will cover the basic features and target applications for the PIC18 J-series products. Finally, information on development tools and additional support for the PIC18 J-series devices will be reviewed. | 02/07/07 | 23 min |
| Introduction to the PIC24F MCU | Microchip offers 4 families of 16-bit controllers with performance ranges from 16 MIPS to 40 MIPS with digital signal control. These products cover Flash Memory from 64 KB to 256 KB; RAM from 512 Bytes to 16 KB; and pin counts from 18 to 100 pins. The controllers are one part of a total solution that includes development tools and software libraries. This presentation provides an overview of Microchip?s 16-bit products, with a focus on the PIC24F entry level controller and the tools and libraries available. | 08/28/06 | 25 min |
| Microchips 8-bit PIC® Microcontrollers (Part 1 of 2) |
This presentation will focus on Microchip's 8-bit PIC® microcontroller portfolio. In part 1, we will focus on the various 8-bit PIC® architectures. | 12/01/11 | 24 min |
| Microchips 8-bit PIC® Microcontrollers (Part 2 of 2) |
This presentation will focus on Microchip's 8-bit PIC® microcontroller portfolio. In part 2, I will touch on 8-bit PIC® microcontroller technologies, peripherals, and development tool options available from Microchip today, along with guidance on where to go to find additional resources and information to assist you in getting started. | 12/01/11 | 20 min |
