World-wide, Microchip’s facility engineers completed projects from 2007 through 2010 that reduced consumption of incoming city water by more than 57.4 million gallons. Improvements were made that reduced use in landscaping, cooling towers, and sanitary fixtures, and through increasing DI water recovery and recycle. At the same time wastewater was reduced by 53.3 million gallons. The difference between incoming water and wastewater is the reduction in landscaping. This is a reduction of $200,000.
