dsPIC33EP128GS808 data sheet

Hello,
it's not often a new chip comes out that gets me really excited, but the headline figures for the GS808 look really good.  Anyone got any ideas when a data sheet will become available?
I remember waiting years (literally) for the dspic30f6010 to finally come out.  It was announced then appeared on the website then dissapeared then apperad but wasn't available.  That was worth the wait for me in the end...

I suspect that after acquiring Atmel the MCHP needs to recollect the money spent by selling the datasheets for money LoL

So they do exist then? I have some samples on the way but still can't see the data sheet anywhere. Very frustrating. Does the a/d work better than the gs506? (Which by the way is a lovely little chip too, Just no CAN)

Does not appear listed. Just as important is the Errata. Again none listed. Have used the 16GS504 and there are a lot of issues with the Hi speed PWM. Some don't have a work around. But may be they have been solved on this chip.
Does the chip have PPS?

The PWM errata is more or less the same as the GS506, the ADC also has this weird trigger issue:
"Under specific conditions, multi-core ADC sampling
cross-talk noise might be present."
 And yes, got PPS,PTG, SPI, I2C, OPAmp, DMA, CAN, 8x2PWM. However, couldnt get the CAN working yet...

I find the true random number generator interesting.
 
I always thought it was impossible since nothing is really random even in nature.

Just noticed the gs806 has also come up - still no data sheet.  How come they both have the same number of IO but the 806 has 16 fewer pins?
all good fun.

The datasheet I have (May 2016) is still full of errors. The GS808 has something like 67 IOs.

Hello Stampede, thanks for the snippets of information so far - fortunately I can't get on with my day job at the moment because of a piece of double booked test kit.  You say that you haven't got CAN working on the chip yet - is this because you haven't tried or because it won't work?

Got the CAN1 & 2 working now with DMA. Datasheets stated that the PPS for _C1TX is 13 (defined in the header), but actually it's 14. Took me a while :)
I hope microchip comes up with an updated datasheet and full support for the XC16 compiler.

What I couldn't test yet are the new perpiherals like CLC and PTG.

the release notes for XC16 V1.30 suggest that they are supported (maybe with bugs???).

Errata is online.
 
Using this part since a while, but why only 4 channels of DMA? They are all used up by the CAN modules, no DMA left for e.g. SPI

Thanks Stampede.
I guessed that the DMA was only put in to save them reengineering the CAN - have you tried it for anything else?  I only need one CAN channel and I wonedr if I could use the DMA for the A/D in some way to improve on processing bandwith...

Hi Isaac,
 
I just double checked the "DMA CHANNEL TO PERIPHERAL ASSOCIATIONS" (Table 8-1), and you dont find any DMA trigger generated by the ADC. Surprisingly, the SPI is not listed anymore. It used to be in the datasheet i had before (70005258a.pdf). Don't know whats happening there, but increasing the ADC throughput using DMA doesnt seem to be possible.
