Navigator view is empty

Hello,

I am working on a project based on USB Device. I would like to use the navigator view. But it is empty. I am using MPLAB.X on windows 7.

Any idea about this trouble shooting ?
Thanks
Jean-Marie

In order for it to populate, you have to select on a source file. If nothing is selected in the Project Viewer, it will show nothing. Hopefully, it's this simple.

    Hi SkySurfer,

Yes I know that ! But for the files of one project, the view remain empty... not as for other where the view is populated when you point the cursor on the file.

    Yes I know that !

Since you didn't state that and were vague about it, I thought I would give the common sense answer. There's those who wouldn't know that so, Glad you know that!

Navigator window might show empty if the file you selected is empty.

Yes effectively. But finally I think that I found what was th issue : no development platform wad definned and by the way, the code was not scanned.

    Hi,
In my case, I just close MPLAB and restart again, all sorted!

It is a bug. I have mplab x 4.05 and after a while in some files (fully defined c and h files) the navigator is empty.
I have to close mplabx and open it again.
    I have windows 10

I was reading this because I was having the same problem. When I went back to MPLab it had fixed itself.  I'm guessing it scans the files in the background and it just took a while for it to get to all the files in a newly opened project.
Would be nice if it told you that instead of just giving you a blank navigator window.  Or better yet if it prioritized the file you are looking at it it would probably be fast enough that you wouldn't even notice.
