Wrong highlight at variable definition

Wrong highlight at variable definition

Definition with the highlight :
BYTE (*NSUdiagBuf)[cNSUdiagBufL];
Definition without highlight:
BYTE *NSUdiagBuf[cNSUdiagBufL];
 
Both compiled as it has to in "c", meaning different behavior, no warnings. But in 1-st case, the screen is red for a half and no lists (then NSUdiagBuf is a part of the structure). Hard to edit...
 

MPLAB X IDE v4.15, XC16 v1.23, Java: 1.8.0_144,  Windows 7 version 6.1.

    I wonder how a "half red screen" looks like ...
     
    If you are talking about "red underlining" in the  MpLabX editor window, then google for
