For Newbies — A New Harmony Book

I finally decided to publish a book about Harmony based on many comments and postings from this forum. The book title is “Harmony for PIC32MX Applications” and is available from Amazon and AmazonEurope.

The link in the US is https://www.amazon.com/Ha...eywords=Petrick.

The book is intended for newbies to quickly learn Harmony and MPLABX. By the end of the book a reader will also know how to include the USB stack and how to add an http_net web server to a PIC32MX system.

There is also a support website at www.capritechnologybooks.com which contains all the source code, the table of contents, and the introduction chapter.

I welcome any feedback.

    Hi,
Does your book show how to create the all the projects (I mean also the USB and Ethernet projects) from scratch using MHC ?
Which version of Harmony is actually used in your book ?

Maybe you should ask Microchip to add your book on this page : http://www.microchip.com/development-tools/academic-corner   (it seems there is a contact mail on that page)
I would give some visibility ;=)
    Regards

Yes.  Also shows how to include them as a "module" that can be added or deleted.

    MPLABX 4.00, Harmony 2.04, XC32 1.44

    Thanks.  I'll contact them.

I assume a "soft copy" means an electronic version (or eBook) and, no, that is not available.  Amazon handles all the distribution and there is only the paper version (soft cover though). :)

I looked at lulu and CreateSpace.  I have a friend who used CreateSpace and walked me through its process.  It seemed straightforward so that is what I used.  I really do not care about how the book is distributed or sold, so having Amazon do it is fine with me.  I am sure lulu is a good option also.  The good news about this for anyone out there who is thinking of writing a book, the self-publishing route is not complicated and there are no significant up-front costs.

Yep, that's what I meant with Lulu: you can place your stuff for free, you will pay for your own printed copies (at a good price), and will get money if anyone buys your stuff in PDF or paper version.
