The ACES package is a suite of software tools to configure and demonstrate the CryptoAuthentication Family of devices using various evaluation kits.

ACES was designed to minimize the learning curve for using the CryptoAuthentication Family of devices in your application. The package includes the ACES Configuration Environment (ACES CE) and a comprehensive help system.

The ACES package also includes support for the AT88CK9000 programmer board.

The Automotive Networking Development Board is a low-cost modular development system for Microchip’s 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers targeting CAN and LIN network related applications. The board supports devices using the 100 pin Plug-In Module (PIM) connector for easy device swapping. The board has four Mikrobus™ sockets which allow the user the ability to develop with a variety of MikroElectronika Click™ add-on boards. The board also includes a PICtail Plus edge connector for backwards compatibility to PICtail Plus boards used with the Explorer 16 Development board.

Performance, Precision, Power, Pins

The AVR P4 Field Engagement Board (FEB) demonstrates the high performance, precision and low power consumption of  an AVR microcontroller (MCU) with low pin count and small memory size.

Maximizing the value of 20 AVR pins:
  • 2 pins for VDD and GND
  • 1 pin for Unified Programming and Debug Interface (UDPI)
  • 2 pins for 32768 Hz crystal oscillator
  • 4 pins for 4 LEDs and 4 push buttons
  • 3 pins for interface to OLED display
  • 1 pin for SET/RUN slide switch detection
  • 6 pins for connector and I2C bus connection

Demonstrated techniques:
  • How to use 1 pin for both driving a LED and detecting a push button
  • How to switch between oscillators on-the-fly
    • Use 20 MHz internal oscillator when fast processing is required for driving display
    • Use 32768 Hz external crystal oscillator when precise timing is needed
    • Use 32 kHz internal Ultra Low Power (ULP) oscillator otherwise to minimize power consumption
  • How to use only 3 pins to drive a 128 x 64 OLED display
  • How to expand each display character on-the-fly to 12 x 16 pixels so it is easy to read but only uses 6 x 8 bits of Flash
  • How to make a design where part of the circuit can be switched off to minimize power consumption (without accidentally resetting the MCU)

The MPLAB® ICD 4 In-Circuit Debugger/Programmer is Microchip’s fastest, cost-effective debugging and programming tool for PIC® Microcontrollers (MCUs) and dsPIC® Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs). This speed is provided by a 300 MHz, 32-bit MCU with 2MB of RAM and a high-speed FPGA to yield faster communications, downloads and debugging. It debugs and programs with the powerful, yet easy-to-use graphical user interface of MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The MPLAB ICD 4 is connected to your PC using a high-speed USB 2.0 interface and is connected to the target with a debugging connector which is also compatible with the MPLAB ICD 3 or MPLAB REAL ICE™ In-Circuit Emulator systems. The MPLAB ICD 4 also works with JTAG interfaces.

The MPLAB ICD 4 In-Circuit Debugger/Programmer supports many, but not all, PIC MCUs and dsPIC DSCs at this time. The firmware is continually being upgraded to add support for new devices. To help you hit the ground running right out of the box, we have pre-programmed the PIC32MM Curiosity Development Board with a RGB color mixing application. In this demo, the potentiometer can be used to adjust each color channel intensity, independently, while the push buttons are used to select the channel to be adjusted. Out of Box Demo: RGB color mixing 
To get started quickly, the PIC32MM Curiosity Development Board is pre-programmed with a RGB color mixing application. For customers who want to develop USB audio applications with the PIC32MM GPM family, the USB audio headset demo is a perfect starting point that leverages the X32 headers populated on the PIC32MM USB Curiosity Development Board. 

Demo Highlights:
  • Implements USB isochronous digital audio streaming to I2S conversion
  • Works with the AC320100 audio codec daughter board to implement:
    • Full stereo 48kHz digital audio playback
    • Simultaneous microphone sampling and I2S streaming input capability
  • Implements fine resolution fractional clock division for eliminating audio playback rate mismatch with the host
  • Implements an HID audio control interface for digitally adjusting volume/pause/play, etc.

The PIC32MM0256GPM064 Plug-in Module(PIM) is designed to plug into the Explorer 16/32 Development Boards and is designed to enable users to explore the innovative features and capabilities of the eXtreme low-power PIC32MM “GPM” family. The PIM includes the PIC32MM0256GPM064 64-pin TQFP device, which has the most memory and highest pin-count of all devices in this family.

The entire family of PIC32MM devices is supported by Microchip’s development ecosystem including the MPLAB® X IDE and the MPLAB XC32 Compiler.
