Our environmental systems are registered to international standards, such as ISO/TS-16949, ISO-9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Microchip's EHS group manages a wide array of programs and services, and provides EHS-related resources in the areas of occupational safety and industrial hygiene, product EHS (i.e. RoHS), training, construction, fire and life safety, contractor safety, environmental management and health services.
Over the past 20 years, Microchip’s semiconductor product portfolio has both grown and materially changed. Microchip began shipping RoHS compliant products to our distributors and customers in April 2006. As a strategic supplier to our customers Microchip has taken the additional initiative to eliminate or reduce substances that could impact the ecosystem. Starting 01 July, 2009 Microchip semiconductor production lines were qualified as “Halogen-Free” as defined per IEC 61249-2-21:2003. With this change of molding compounds, Antimony Trioxide (Sb2O3) was removed from the packages. Click here to search for RoHS products
